My 21 Day Fix Adventure: Day 2

Welcome back! It’s Day 2 of my 21 Day Fix Adventure! I am very happy to say that day 2 was WAY easier that day 1. Day 1, I wasn’t a happy camper. I was super grumpy and had a huge headache. I know it’s because I didn’t have my usual cup of coffee in the morning and then there’s the whole no sugar and no chocolate thing…..what an adjustment! The morning of Day 2, I enjoyed a cup of coffee but without my usual half n half and 3 spoons of sugar. Instead, I added unsweetened almond milk and honey. Let me tell you, it’s not the same….but it will do. I just need to get some caffeine in me before the twins wake up.

With my cup of coffee, I enjoyed some plain yogurt, fresh berries and whole grain cheerios. 1 red / 1 yellow/ 1 purple.

A big part of the 21 Day Fix is learning how to space your containers out throughout the day. It can be a little tricky figuring out what containers to eat when and make sure you have enough leftover for dinner. Since I have done this program before, I feel like it is going a lot smoother for me this time. For me personally, I try and get my carbs (yellow containers) and my fruits (purple containers) eaten before dinnertime.

Lunch was 3 scrambled eggs with peppers, onions, spinach, and yes that’s cheddar cheese on top. Hallelujah! 1 blue/ 1 1/2 red / 1 green

By the time 3pm rolled around I was pretty hungry. I ate some sliced Fuji apples and a piece of toast with almond butter. 1 purple / 1 yellow / 1 teaspoon

Now, you are going to look at my dinner and think holy moly that’s a lot of food! And it is….too much I think. I couldn’t even eat it all. This is where learning how to space your food throughout the day is helpful. I ended up with way to much at dinner. I could have eaten a snack in between breakfast and lunch to help use some of my containers up. Dinner was lemon pepper salmon, spring mix salad with balsamic dressing, sautéed red cabbage, and roasted Brussel sprouts. 1 1/2 red / 2 green / 1/2 orange

I was pretty sore from the previous night’s workout and was really happy my legs would get a break with the Upper Fix workout. I love Upper Fix! Weight training and core work are way easier for me than cardio….I  despise cardio. I don’t want to jump around. I don’t want to run. Anyone else out there get me!?
