Day 2: September Farm
Welcome back to our journey through Lancaster County! We have seen many delicious places so far but we aren’t done yet. We have now reached one of my favorite spots…September Farm. Oh my goodness this place is amazing! Incredible! Beautiful! We love love love September Farm. We never make a Lancaster trip without coming here and doing some delicious eating and shopping. Let me show you why we love it so much.
September Farm Cheese is a family owned business where they share their passion for making delicious cheese from their own dairy cows. In 2013, they expanded from a shop on their farm and built a brand new facility where they both sell and make their cheese. Their cheese is out of this world delicious with many different flavors of Cheddar, Jack, and their newest addition, Gouda. September Farm is more than just a cheese shop. They feature a bakery, specialty food items, ice cream shop, and the most delicious soups and sandwiches at their deli. Let’s get started!
The day we visited they had local produce for sale on the front porch. It looked so lovely I had to snap a few pictures.
Walking into the shop, the first thing we saw was Razz M’ Tazz Snack Mix. My mom and Laura completely and utterly love this snack mix. It’s full of nuts, cranberries, and white chocolate. Yum!
At September Farm, cheese is everywhere and they have samples, lots and lots of samples. I love this because there are so many wonderful flavors and you get to try them all before deciding which ones will win your heart and go home with you. Some of my favorite flavors are: Joy’s Tomato Basil Jack, Chives and Dill Jack, Horseradish Cheddar, and the Smoked Gouda.
For the cheese making, they bring the milk directly from the farm and make it right where you can watch. A lot of love goes into making that cheese.
September Farm also carries many specialty food items. From chips and salsa, to crackers and dip mixes, as well as some adorable kitchen items such as bowls, mugs, and tea kettles. You are sure to find something you will love.
Look at how everything is displayed so nicely. They make it so warm and inviting. I could spend all day here.
One of the main things I love about September Farm, and something you should never miss out on, is their Sandwich Shop. Oh my word, they have the most wonderful soups and sandwiches! Now, I tell you that you shouldn’t miss out on it but the day we visited we did miss out. We had just eaten (we constantly ate on this trip) and we just weren’t ready for lunch yet. Which is very very sad because their sandwich “The Honey Brooker” was calling my name. In fact, it always calls my name and that is what I always get. It’s a toasted sandwich with turkey, bacon, tomato, cheese and thousand island dressing. So delicious!
Before you head out the door don’t forget to grab an ice cream cone for the road. They have many flavors to choose from and even have specialty cones.
So what did you think? I bet you want to take a trip there and experience it for yourself, and you should. You know what I just realized while looking at their website…you can order their cheese online! That is life changing. September Farm Cheese delivered to my front door? Sign me up!
I can’t wait to show you what other tasty places we found on our trip.
Thank you September Farm for sharing your passion of delicious cheese with all of us!
